Fight Day!! Paintballing!!

Suprisingly we have very close to our house a huge Paintball warehouse. We got some nice discount vouchers and for 9 pounds we had a great competion!! We were 22!!!
Unfortunately Sara was shot in her hand after 5 min of first match and she was KO for the rest of the event. I had to avenge her in a heroic fashion. So determined I was that I basically died in all matches we played, including in the ones with double lives. I also swallowed the bitter ink of the balls as I was hit in the mask several times!! heheeh
It was much fun and even though we had to play with another team of strangers that had a Rambo within (he was an ex-soldier) we still enjoyed it a lot!!!
To Victoryyy!!

Easter!!!!!

Easter is also celebrated in London, not so strongly has in Portugal but still special. Eggs are also exchanged and families also gather together. So has a "family" we had here I tried to gather my porutuguese friends that stayed in london for this celebration and also invited our friends Rahul and Dennis for that they could have a taste of Portuguese Easter food celebration. We ate, codfish (bacalhau), octopus (ah lagareiro) and a great naco na pedra, all topped up with Portuguese wine. Has it should  be it was a long lunch that lasted for 5 hours.... Happy Easter!!!

Enjoying London

So we are now trying to enjoy a little more of this magic city of London, and even more special with good weather. The sun was shinning and we decided to go to a Movie Museum and then stroll around the South Bank area. The images couldn't be clearer!!! It's a beautiful day...

Our House!!!!

So we have moved to our house and so we have new neighbors! We left Ecuador and Turkey and are now with English and Italian sharers. We already tried to make an official dinner event to celebrate that and we joined some more friends and also our friend Mahmut from our old house.
The kitchen as you can see is not big, actually it was fully packed, but has it is typical in this houses to rent there is no living room. (it was converted in another room to make more money) But we made it, it was fun and we will certainly repeat!!!!! Everyone likes to have it's one space, but share a house is the best way to share cultures!!! :D

What are u drinking... Sarah? :D

At last!

For the ones that don't remember, I'll refresh you memories. When we first came to the UK, our idea was to stay a maximum of 4 months, enough time to gather some money to start our Meet The World journey. So, we thought to work in the most quick and basic job: hospitality. This is a good option when you want to travel for a long period of time. Well, has everyone knows, not everything that is planned follows the plan, so it's been 6 months that we are in London.

Because of the short time stay, I never thought about working in my area, pharmacy. To be able to do it, I would have to be registered in the General Pharmaceutical Council, the equivalent to our Ordem dos Farmaceuticos. The process is quite long and expensive but still, I decided I would give a try. I sent all the paperwork and started looking for a job in community pharmacy. After my fourth CV delivered, I got a voluntary job in a pharmacy in Stockwell. I had the opportunity to learn how the English system works.

Finnaly, the begin of April, I got the confirmation of my registration! Because a full-time position is quite difficult to find in central London, I'm trying to work some hours in the pharmacy and in a 4 star hotel, as a waitress. Hard to manage but hoping to balance both sides soon. Everything is possible, we just need to believe we can!

See u soon Valter!!! In Warsow

We met Valter thru a contact we had in our Cocktail Course in Portugal as he has been a source of inspiration for me and Sara. Bartending is definitively our recent passion and we think that during our trip will develop it even further. Valter was working in London in Club Aqua which won last year's prize for best Bar in London. It's an amazing venue with Japanese base and high standard service. Definitively not for our pockets. Valter is a great guy and always ready to help with whom for some hours I had the pleasure to work with in a nightclub called Ladybird. The other day we had a farewell night in his last night working in the nightclub and now he is in a new adventure in Warsow. Good luck Valter and our paths will cross again.

Goodbye London!!! Hello......

Like we said in the last financial report we were not saving fast enough for our plans, so we had a decision to make. London for 2 dummies was in our opinion a success. We came with nothing and very quickly we were sustainable and we managed to save money. Based on our reports doing a minimal social life we would save 1000 pounds a month. We decided we wanted to enjoy more London with all its richness so after this we need another saving money destination. London is conquered and we'll stay here until August!!!

After looking at the Globe, going to job events for countries like Australia, Qatar, Singapore, Dubai, New Zealand and others we decided for a very special place. What better to save money than a tax free paradise? And what better place to live on with a min temperature of 27 and a maximum of 31 during all year? What better place to start real adventure traveling than an island strategically placed in the middle of Caribbean? So close to Miami, Cuba, and Belize our original departure place!!!

Yes... you guess it..... Cayman Islands!!!!
